This February, experience a wondrous journey like no other in the wild oceanside jungles of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, for a week of magical healing, mystical wisdom, and the abundant majesty of Mother Nature in full glory!

adventuring like never before: riding the waves, leaping out of strangler figs trees, hiking waterfalls and more!...

before melting away all tension with a healing treatment in warm sea breezes...

indulging in delicious, healthy, local and fresh cuisine amongst new lifelong friends...

singing, chanting, and bonfire dancing under the jungle full moon...

Meet the Team

We've consciously cultivated our collective of healers, shamans, mystics, and guides for this sacred journey, each of them bringing deep levels of wisdom, expertise, and loving intention to our time together.

Sara Goff, Aurora Satya Devi, E-RYT500, YACEP

Known for her unique blending of the playful with the sacred, from New York City to Costa Rica, India to Ohio, and beyond, Soul Guide and Vinyasa Yoga Instructor Sara Goff empowers her clients to delve ever more deeply into the stirrings of their own wise spirits and innate nature. Infusing her work with creativity, ancestral wisdom, a dose of psychic gifts, and philosophy and spiritual study of varied lineages, Sara hopes to inspire her students and sisters to awaken to their innate truth and radiant light. Founder of Satya Embodied Yoga Teacher Trainings, Sara is also a producer for the beloved Wild Woman Fest, a Wild Woman Project circle leader, and creator of the celebrated Chakra Discovery course. After many years of growing and teaching in New York City, Costa Rica, India, Mexico, Hawaii, and beyond, Sara currently dwells in Ohio, and can be often found hiking local parks or exploring the limits of playground swings.

Maria Manzione, Founder, Osa Horse Medicine

When María followed her heart to live in the jungle of Costa Rica her heart horse found her, first by coming to her in dreams and then through a synchronistic series of events. In 2014 Maria read “Tao of Equus” and her entire life shifted to her hearts truest desire; using the compilation of her life’s work to begin working professionally with horses by creating safe and sacred space for growth and healing, for both people and horses alike. In 2015 Maria attended her first Eponaquest retreat and was invited into a six month Riding Focused Apprenticeship beginning the following month. Maria was blessed with the opportunity for a work study giving her the additional experience of co facilitating five retreats with her teachers. During her Apprenticeship, María’s dream expanded to offering safe haven for Horses in need and her herd began to grow.

Maria combines the ancient arts of ritual, meditation, breathing practices and visualization with the wise and sentient guidance of her Horse herd.

Kate Waters, Massage Therapist and Bodyworker

Kate’s massage will assist you in the process of attunement with your body by inviting awareness to the present experience and connecting with your breath. Kate is a 2010 graduate from Cortiva Institute for Massage Therapy in Newton, MA. She has additional training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Thai, Thai abdominal and Chi Nei Tsang techniques.  She has been working with yoga retreats in Central America for the past 7 years and is a recent 200hour yoga teacher graduate of Satya Embodied training in Costa Rica.  Kate’s presence and awareness throughout treatments allows for her to draw from all her various trainings and resources, creating therapeutic fusion massages that are as unique as each individual.

Kate delights in spending time with family and friends, connecting with mama ocean and nature, yoga, music, healing arts, and organic foods.  She is deeply committed to a lifelong journey of growth, self-exploration and holistic healing.

Marissa Doughty, RYT200, Logistics and Hands-On Assistant

Marissa initially found yoga as a means of physical exercise but it quickly turned into wanting to learn more about the background of yoga and what it meant to be truly ‘living your yoga’. After practicing Vinyasa Yoga for 5 years, Marissa decided it was time to take the leap and was the first enrollee of the “Satya Embodied 200-HR YTT” in Costa Rica. Marissa is passionate about how yoga can be transformative for the mind, body and spirit and loves having the opportunity to share it with anyone she can.

Marissa is looking forward to having yoga become a full-time life adventure, and is honing her skills as our logistics and planning maven and yoga assistant!

Our Accommodations

We will enjoy gorgeous accommodations at Boca Sombrero Surf and Yoga Retreat, an exclusive ocean front paradise embedded in the amazing rainforest settings of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. This property specializes in hosting retreats that combine yoga practice with surfing perfect waves in a lush tropical beach setting. Enjoy a private or shared sanctuary in true jungle style in an open-air, thatched-roof tent cabina with private veranda (with private shower and shared bath facilities), or stay in the luxurious island-style open-air shared house. We will have exclusive use of the private yoga deck for our retreat, located 50 feet from the crashing waves of the Pacific, as well as our own private pool for lounging and mid-day dips. Surfing, kayaking, climbing trees, rappelling down waterfalls, horseback riding, or zip-lining through the forest canopy are all available on your days off in this jungle paradise, as well as lounging on a hammock or enjoying a luscious massage, acupuncture treatment, or body scrub. The staff's highly trained chefs will provide an exotic blend of delicious and healthy cuisine sourced from local farmers, and take great pride in creating nutritious and scrumptious dishes that meet dietary needs in a beautiful setting. The lovely team at Boca Sombrero is dedicated to making our stay as exciting, pleasurable and healthful as possible.

Tent Cabinas. For the most rustica, close-to-nature accommodation option, we love these elevated tent cabinas, each with private open-air showers and shared bath houses. The private verandas offer a secluded place to relax and stargaze after your jungle adventures. Lovely for roommates in twin beds (come with a friend, or we will match you) or a single or couple with a king mattress, this is 'glamping' at its finest!

Shared Tent Cabina
(Per Person - ideal for friends or couples seeking privacy):
Private Tent Cabina

Open-Air Houses. Live luxuriously (for the jungle, that is) in one of three thatched-roof huts on property. These open-air casas offer a more 'inside' feel, complete with hot showers, while still offering the 'swept-away' breezes and sounds of the sea. Rooms can be shared or private, with common spaces and bathrooms shared in each house with 1-4 other people.

Shared Casa Room
(3-5 women to a house, each in a private bed - OR a group of 3-5 friends of any gender who want a private house with two kings and a twin)
Private Casa Room
(Only two available! Couples: select this option for a small private open-air house all to yourself!)

I'M IN! NOW WHAT? You've registered - how exciting! We are so excited to share this adventure in paradise with you!
